Hotly tipped French fashion model Loulou Robert has been snapped in this set of shots by photographer Alex Freund. Posing gracefully mainly in lingerie and the inclusion of a couple of portraits, Loulou looks stunning in all the black and white imagery. Expect to see more of her beautiful self on the catwalk in the near future.

Outlier Supermarine Rain Shirt

outlier-supermarine-rain-shirt-01
There is a clear and present danger with Outlier. The more of their products you acquire, the more of them you crave. We have heard plenty of complaints about the price point on their goods, but we explained it to one skeptical cycling buddy this way: “You are ok with dropping a couple hundred dollars on a new part for your bike, right? Why not think of their pants as a new part for your bike?” Speaking to their dungarees and three-way-shorts from experience, it is worth the asking price, as the stuff keeps on keeping on for very long.

And that is partially why we have avoided picking up one of their many alluring shirts. This could be the one that breaks the seal, however. The Supermarine Rain Shirt: it bears their pivot sleeves and breathes through highly water resistant, Italian Supermarine Cotton. “It’s not waterproof to government spec,” we are told, “but you can walk around for an hour in it during a storm and stay dry.” Alright already: online.

Benny Gold Valencia Collection Lookbook – Indian Summer Night

Benny Gold Valencia Collection Lookbook - Indian Summer Night

For his new Valencia Collection, San Francisco designer Benny Gold produced the ‘Indian Summer Night’ lookbook. “The idea behind the shoot is one of those warm nights in the city that isn’t planned and you do not want to end. Telling the story of what happens after a good summers day that continues into the night without heading home first.” The imagery could not fit the brand any better.

F&Y Les Classiques – Wooden Bicycle Handlebars

f-and-y-wooden-handlebars-01
Not sure how well beautifully finished wooden handlebars would hold up against all of the palm sweat summer cycling can invite, but you would look good finding out with a pair of these locked in your stem. Les Classiques handlebars—forged from wood, aluminum, and brass—are the fine idea of Montreal-based design duo F&Y (Frederique and Yannic) who primarily focus on furniture.

“The result of a passion for woodwork and bike rides, each object holds its own singular traits fabricated locally and of a limited edition,” the pair tell us. “The attention to detail in the confection of theses handlebars is a small gift to those who love and appreciate cycling.” A small and splendid gift. London Collections: Men – Q&A – Katie Eary

katie-early-

Seems like just yesterday we were posting up images from the last round of London Fashion Week shows, now here we are, back again to see what’s on its way for Spring/Summer 2013. However, all change over at Somerset House. Men’s day is now ‘London Collections: Men’,  a 3 day spectacular featuring homegrown talent and a few foreign interlopers.  More time devoted to Men’s garms can only be a good thing, so with this in mind we talk to a selection of designers getting ready to show in the coming days.

First up, the talented Katie Eary, a Royal College of Art grad whose ‘aggressive yet noble menswear’ continues to draw praise from all quarters.

Nau for Snow Peak – Café Lux Coffee Kit

nau-snow-peak-cafe-lux-kit-1
As we mentioned, we generally pack an AeroPress for coffee-making where there are no kitchens, but this collaborative effort between the Portland-based outerwear sages at Nau and camping supply company Snow Peak looks to ably fit the same bill. “The limited edition package includes a titanium café press, a titanium milk foamer, a titanium mug, a cutting board with integrated knife and a bag of Stumptown’s Holler Mountain coffee beans,” we are told.

That knife case is an especially wise move, as we nearly sliced our fingertips reaching blindly into a plastic crate that we had forgotten contained the naked blade of a chef’s knife. Having that case double as a cutting board: even better. Itching to get back out of town all of a sudden.
